The nest of lactotermites is a large concentrated nest. The nest consists of many pieces of woody fibers. It also includes some honeycomb-like and flaky structures made of soil, termite feces, sand scintillation and saliva secretion. So it is also called dry nest. The shape of the nest is oval, and there are various regular shapes due to the limitation of the environmental matrix. The diameter of the nest is generally 40-50 mm, with a flaky structure. It's more than 1 meter. The nest is divided into master and deputy. There is only one main nest and many secondary nests. Termites in the primary and secondary nests often communicate with each other. Isotope tracing measurements show that the termites in the primary and secondary nests can contact each other within 4 hours. The nest population is huge, and the total number of individuals in its vigorous mature population is millions.
Through the investigation of our company's technicians on mud and brick houses, termites can build nests in mud walls. The most common location for nesting is at the junction of lintel corners and beams and walls, where there is abundant food and room for the development of ant nests. However, termites can not break through firebricks or build nests in brick walls, so the nest ants are mostly at the junction of the thickest main beam of wood and the wall.
Because of the complexity of urban concrete structures, the distribution of nest ants is quite diverse, often in the hollow wall, ceiling, toilet, kitchen, bathroom near the water pipe and lintel corner, the gap under the gate, as well as the two ends of the pyramid rack. In addition, underground nests also account for a considerable proportion, especially in warehouses.
1. Powder poisoning
The control effect of spraying technology has a great influence. If the spraying site is inappropriate, the dosage is too small or the powder is blocked, the expected control effect can not be achieved. In order to avoid the errors caused by improper spraying or other reasons, a pharmacodynamic check must be carried out after spraying. Because of frequent termite exchanges between nests, the application of drugs in the main nest can kill the whole population of termites. It takes about 3-4 days in summer and 1 week in winter to spray arsenic from the time of application to the death of termites.
2. Trapping and killing
Trapping and killing methods, including poison bait method and drug bait method, are the main methods to kill termites at present.
3. Nest-digging method
Nest-digging is generally used where the source of the drug cannot be solved. In winter, when the weather is cold, the termites seldom go out when the temperature is below 10 degrees, and a large number of termites are concentrated in the nest. At this time, digging the nest can achieve better results.
二、Control of Santermites
Reticulitermes, the largest genus of termites in China, is widely distributed in temperate and subtropical regions. So far, more than 100 names have been subscribed. It is an amphibious, dispersed and non-nesting species, so it is called Santermite. Reticulitermes mainly endanger wood components and some cash crops in houses. Host plants have been found to be cassava, sunflower, persimmon, peach, willow, poplar, cypress, broussonetia, white trunk layer and so on. As far as the characteristics of harmful houses are concerned, yellow-breasted termites decay wood near the ground, such as floors, doorframes, staircase footings, column foundations and so on. Therefore, there is a saying that scattered termites do not go upstairs in Zhejiang. The black-breasted and habitat-ratio termites can erode the building to the top of the floor.
1. Technicians will carefully inspect the part of the ant infestation, and more carefully inspect the part of the ant infestation that has not yet been found, so as not to let those wood components hidden by the ant infestation leak out of the net.
2. Technicians will grasp the timing of application. The colony of Scutellaria flavipectus tends to appear in February and March on continuous rainy and cloudy days. The weather turns clear suddenly. The temperature rises rapidly to more than 20 degrees (the first temperature rise in early spring). The air pressure drops to 10134 Pa, usually at 10061 Pa. In a region, it is generally divided into groups 2 to 4 times a year. It is better to apply the medicine 10 days after the first group to the last group, and the best effect is on the day of the group.
3.The technicians select the best place to apply the medicine. After field investigation, the technicians lock the termite nest points and apply the medicine in the termite nest and the ant road to return to the nest.
4. Drug application should be deep, uniform and dispersed. Our company pays attention to the method of drug application in the process of drug application. It sprays the drug evenly and dispersedly to the deepest part. It is more termites that stick to the drug for virus transmission.
5. Re-examine next year and apply medicine continuously. Because there are many colonies in a certain area, and there are no signs of clustering holes and harmfulness in the same year, it is very easy to be left behind when applying medicine.
三、Control of Sand-piled Termites
Sand-piling termites belong to wood termites family and sand-piling termites. There are 9 species of sand-piling termites in China, which are distributed in the south of 28 degrees north latitude. Taiwan, Fujian, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan have been found to be the provinces and regions of sand-laden termites in China. The main hazards of sand-piled termites are internal wood components and wild trees and fruit trees. It has been found that parasitic plants are: litchi, coconut, banyan, maple, ruoju, crape myrtle and so on.
1. Fumigation: This is an important method to control termites. Fumigants must undergo special technical training. Workers should wear gas masks. For wood furniture eroded by sand-piled termites, it is small and can be fumigated in a fumigation chamber or a fumigation chamber. The doors and windows of the fumigation chamber must be sealed with kraft paper, or the fumigated articles can be covered with plastic film. The surrounding area should be pressed with sand to prevent leakage.
2. High temperature extermination: Sand-piled termites will die after several hours in high temperature above 60 degrees. Therefore, the termites can be prevented and cured by using various methods to produce high temperature and treat the wood that has been eaten. Several pieces of furniture eroded by sand-piled termites can effectively kill termites if they are treated at 65 degrees for 1 hour, 30 minutes or at 60 degrees for 4 hours.
